WCL Reception: Lessons I Have Learned from the World's Most Interesting Women

  • Downstream 1624 Northwest Johnson Street Portland, OR, 97209 United States (map)

WHAT CAN YOU LEARN FROM THE MOST NOTABLE WOMEN FROM OUR TIME? A LOT, RIGHT!

“Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.”
– Gloria Steinem

“If you can have faith in your real self, you'll suffer less. Be bold about who you really are.”
– Ann Curry

“I am endlessly fascinated that playing football is considered a training ground for leadership, but raising children isn't.”
– Dee Dee Myers

“Any great, long career has at least one flameout in it.”
– Tina Brown

JOIN US: We invite you to join us for a reception and talk led by Francine Read, entrepreneur and founder of the women's speaker series, VOICES. In her role, Francine has brought to Portland many female leaders of our time, including Gloria Steinem, Ann Curry, Dee Dee Myers, and Tina Brown.

Be prepared to be inspired as Francine shares with us, in her entertaining way, what she has learned along the way from these exceptional women.

MORE ABOUT FRANCINE: Francine was selected by Portland Business Journal as one of its Women in Business Orchid Award recipients for 2010.  In 2007, Francine Read was named "One of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Town" by the NW Women's Journal

BONUS: For those in attendance, Francine will raffle off two tickets to Annie Griffiths and two tickets to Yeonmi Park, the last two events in the 2015-2016 VOICES Lecture Series.

TICKETS: $35/person (includes talk, wine, and appetizers).
